leezone,

I just wanted to get the approval 'blessing' of CMC (which I did get) so it wasn't actually a 'workshop', however at the last minute, I felt it 'ok' to invite the public.

I am working on an actual Workshop in NY and will advise everyone of this two weeks in advance (probably after New Years as many seem to get busy from now until then - unless you guys state otherwise .... LET ME KNOW!

We did get some (18 in total ~ not too high) attendance today and I must admit it was interesting to actually have one user bring in an AUDYA so they could be compared side by side. Some tried to simply plug in a USB stick with their MIDI files and the expression on everyone's face is what impressed me - Songs coming to live even more. Others were a little overwhelmed with some new features so I suggested they wait for the DVD tutorial. Others didn't like the fact that the articulation was all controlled with touch, velocity and automation (they prefered a dedicated button - my response to that was this method took away from 'playing' but it was noted. Many loved the new styles, over all mild compression of parts (including 'loud' lead voices), ... etc. Quit a few expressed the fact that finally we were able to get our 'stereo imaging' right [yes, to enjoy this we recommend runing through 2 speakers!]. The new 'tamed' Big Band and Polka style got a few interested, while some were more interested in the new Latin and Dance ... (yes, Dance style you can finally use) styles. The best response came from showing the Guitar mode, New synth, Pad and Guitar sounds and new styles (especially with the new Drums and Arps).

That's the run down for now. Not sure how many from Synth Zone showed up but I believe most came from the other forums.

Thanks,

AJ
