The average person’s lack of scientific and general diversified knowledge is has greatly hindering humanity’s ability to elect competent leaders in government. As science progresses we are aware of or expose ourselves to more dangers than ever before. If we let our knowledge drag us down our ‘path’ we will come out bloodied and dirty. That’s if we can survive the experience.

He points out, “Science is more than a body of knowledge. It is a way of thinking; a way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human fallibility. If we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those who tell us that something is true, to be skeptical of those in authority, then, we are up for grabs for the next charlatan (political or religious) who comes rambling along.”

I agree and build on what he says; indifference, complacency, and ignorance are major components in why the world is in it’s critical state. It comes down to who is making the decisions for the advancement of society and technology. And that is a scary mystery."
