You are being battered with one winter period after the other in North America, while we still haven't even had one inch of snow yet in the north-west of Germany. The ski-lift operators in the medium-range mountains nearby are beginning to worry about going bankrupt, I guess, it's too warm to produce artificial snow even in 2,600 feet altitude.
