When you take into consideration the huge volume of PSR-3000s that have been sold, the percentage of keyboards with problems is likely less than 1-percent. Keep in mind that most electronic devices are no longer inspected to see if the function properly. Most manufacturers have determined that the percentage of factory defects is so low that it doesn't pay for them to have a person checking out each piece of equipment before it leaves the factory. I have a friend that worked for a major computer corporation who said they may have .01 percent defects during an entire manufacturing year.

Personally, I play every day, both at home and on the job, and have never experienced a failure of any kind with any of the Yamaha keyboards I've owned during the past 15 years.
