I use it both as an arranger (I use a midi guitar system) and also as a midi/mp3 player.Also as a mixer w effexts(along with a singer). Generally the arranger function works ok for me (but my requirements are few, mostly the manual bass function and some sounds for single line soloing). But when I turn to the mp3KAR usage, things go pretty bad. I play a number of files (5-6) and then, all of a sudden, player1 or player2 crashes. I can still load midi files but, generally, I have to restart (if I want it to be fully functual again).Another thing: during startup it makes a terrible bzzzz sound that stops afterwards (when used as a mixer, directly to powered speakers.If used through a mixer it's ok. BUT it is supposed to be a mixer as well!!!!).
Anyway, I got the new one and (surprisingly) it has the same bugs. Yes, O.S.1.2 did fix some things for me too (for example the "search" function now on player2 also and searches the whole drive too-very important when you have hundreds of files).
I wish a Ketron engineer reads some of these problems and finally fix something 'cause it's not the cheapest machine in the market.The idea is great but they have to make it work.
