Update: I've made a small bit of progress in my saga of figuring out how to get the Tyros to sync to my Digital Recorder. I set my Digital Recorder to: Master Clock. I also tried setting the D1200mkII recorder to transmit MMC as well as not to transmit MMC. It doesn't appear to matter which MMC setting I chose. Either way, I discovered that the Tyros sequencer's 'Start/Stop' button (when in midi :Ext Clock mode) doesn't even have to be pressed (armed) in order for it to recognize a couple of remote commands (play & stop) from the D1200. In addition, the Tyros midi sequence plays at the same tempo the D1200 is set to. The disappointing thing is that when the D1200's 'Stop' button is pressed, the D1200 recorder pauses at the current location, but the Tyros midi sequencer returns to the beginning of the song.
I only wish I now could get the Tyros to 'remain locked in sync' with the Digital Recorder, whenever the Digital Recorder's Stop button is pressed, or when changing to any location point in the song.
Because I'm only able to trigger the basic 'start' & stop/return function on the Tyros Sequencer from my Digital Recorder, I'm wondering if this is only because I still don't have the Tyros properly configured for remote Ext Clock control yet or if my keyboard is deffective.
I'm hoping some of you Tyros owners out there might try performing a simple test on your Tyros for me to see if the problem exists only on my Tyros or if it's a universal problem with all Tyros'.
1) Go to: Function > Midi , and select 'Midi Ext. A'
2) Load a Midi Song into the Tyros Sequencer
3) Press the Song Sequencer's "Start/Stop" button
4) Report back to let me know if the "Start/Stop" button's indicator lights (or flashes) when pressed.
Thanks in advance for feedback on this.
Scott
