NOTE:.....I recommended the Ev N/D because of it's very high gain without using a mixer with preamp inputs or just plugging it into a KB like the S950 alone ....but if your using a Mixer with preamp Mic inputs my e845S Sennheiser with on/off switch sound amazing But need more gain to really sear thru the mix on stage rugged and better off axis rejection is correct...

Hi All,

Finally placed an order for the Sennheiser E835S. Hope it will be good! Also ordered a cordial mic cable.

Thanks all for the valuable suggestions!!

While I no longer use a handheld mic, when I did, the two best I discovered were the Sennheiser E855 and the Samson Q7. The Q7 has since been replaced by the Q8, which I understand is a bit fuller sounding.

Good luck,

I have several mics that I used a time or two and then put in the drawer, if anyone is interested. I'll make a list after while and post it here.

Above I said Sennheiser 935, but it's a 945. Senility issue.

Hi DonM

Thanks for the info. Im sure I will enjoy the Sennheiser 835s. I have been using cheap quality mics until now and I guess this will be a welcome change!!

Thanks

Sunny

I also use E945 and I really like it a lot.
I would never get sm58. I hate that mike and the way it sounds. Too muddy for me..

Agreed! The SM58 was the gold standard 40 years ago, but things have improved considerably since that mic first became available.

Think about SM58s that I've found is that the old ones seem to be built better than the newer ones. Last one I had had so much handling noise I found it almost unusable. I tried another one and it was the same. They didn't use to be like that.
