Dan, in order to post anything, you'll first have to upload it to a host site, photobucket, youtube, boxnet, etc... Then just post a link to the location on that site and it will show up.

Now go and list all the tunes played on piano. I'll wait... headphone

A couple of obscure tunes doesn't turn the trumpet into the new sax, or guitar!

Diki, with all due respect and I realize I was the one who started the subject of trumpets etc. why don''t we stick to the module itself and try and form an opinion of it on the basis of the tremendous amount of time and effort invested in these demos by Dan. He is putting Ketron itself to shame and imho most other companies.
Short of auditioning it yourself in a shop or at home this is the nearest anyone will get to hearing a new module or keyboard. Therefor full kudos for Dan in doing so. As to the sounds itself it seems to me they are better and at least more versatile than on the SD2 ( I know Dennis might disagree) and retailing at approx. 400 euros it is a viable option for enlarging one's set up. You sure ain't gonna tip over due to its weight ! ( the guy who bought my Roland G70 last week, nearly changed his mind when he had to lift it into his car grin)
Like others I agree that it is a shame Ketron does not market some good motl keyboards to compete with the other three manufacturers. The Audya may be terrific but so is its pricetag and (I believe) its weight. Incidentally, on the Italian forum a guy who owns both the Audya , had the SD2 and now tried the SD1000,maintains that the SD1000 sounds are better than the SD2 and at least as good as those on the Audya...

regards,
John

Yes !
If you want to add the Ketron sounds to your setup, just add this little SD1000.
Tons of good sounds in a small box...

John... agreed.

So far, a mixed bag. But the drums sounded nice and punchy. At the moment, to my ears at least, the Ketron seems to shine in the same areas as the Roland's, and little to no better in its weaker areas. So, for me at least, little advantage to getting one.

Mind you, were those great drums audio loops, or just the built in kits..? My views on audio loops is well known, and only more so with a module.

My BK-9 comes in well under half the price of an Audya. I agree that Ketron need to step up and compete in the MOTL area. They have the technology, much of it unique. It deserves to trickle down more. Perhaps then a dealer network might be more interested in carrying them? That's basically my other main worry about Ketron in the US. You can't see them in the vast majority of the country, if you have a problem, there's no-one local to deal with any issues, and Italian after-sales service is historically notorious.

If this thing comes in at 400 euros in dollars (bit over $500) it shows that Ketron CAN go downmarket. Now they need a spinoff of the Audya in the PSR S950 price range and they might be a serious contender.

Hey !!!! Listen to the Ketron SD1000 SAXOPHONES and clarinet section.

All sounds of this demo are recorded directly from SD1000 without any tweaking.

Do you still want me to continue the demos?
