Hi Dan,

Just an in-between question. The specs say that the Ketron SD1000 sports "512 new orchestral sounds, 292 GM sounds "
Are you videos using both the GM and the OTHER sounds in the demos or just the GM banks ?
Thanks,

John

Maybe 'Rise' was about the last thing it had any great importance on.

Piano, though... plenty of those still on the charts!

Hmmm, Diki mebbe you want to revisit that view wink

Quite a few modern tunes use trumpet, quite noticeably so..I cannot think of names of tunes right now, (but if you wanted proof I am sure I could spend a little time and find the names for you.

laugh just coz the songs don't play on the US radio doesn't mean they are not being recorded, released and been popular...

Well, tough to hear them if they don't play them here!

But, overall, in the big picture of things, there's probably a piano solo on at least 100X's as many songs as there is a trumpet! (at a VERY conservative estimate).

Despite the move to synths, it is still the backbone of any keyboard player's needed sounds. Admittedly, if you let the arranger always play the piano part, and do simple melodies over the top of it, you may not really care that much about it. But if you do anything BUT that, a great piano sound is quite possibly your #1 needed sound...

I don't know about that, Diki. I seem to hear far more guitar and tenor sax solos lately than I hear piano. Maybe it the difference in the music I listen to, though.

Last year's "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men featured a trumpet!

Shakia's "Hips Don't Lie" is a fairly example of a hit song with a trumpet. Although that is a sample from a salsa song... Of course there lots current Latin stuff that features horns, especially trumpet and trombone.
