I just remembered that I had an Andy Williams 8-track tape and dang near wore it out. Mind you, I was a kid raised on rock n roll. I loved his voice and arrangements.

And Paul Simon is a genuis.

In 1973, Andy Williams was appearing at the Frankfort Convention Center, right across a parking lot from "The Cave" and upscale restaurant I was working.

After set-up, he came to dinner and sat next to the trio. We played a few of his hits (the obvious; Moon River and others).

He told me if I ever needed a job to call him (probably just being nice).

Same thing happened on a dinner job in Louisville where Brenda Lee visited in 1968 (really small woman).

Both were gracious and now a real part of American music history.

Good find, again, Bill!

Thanks, Tony. I think he really liked Jazz/Bossa guitar, which was my specialty at the time.

I appreciate BOTH compliments!
