Well, welcome back! It's good to take a break from music from time to time. I actually took a break from keyboards for a while while my tendonitis healed. I was playing so much that errors in my technique were hurting me. So I corrected that and now I'm back with a vengeance. I'm doing some solo work, playing keys in a Wedding band and I'm an 1st Call drummer with a few bands; Whew plus I work full time. Talk about a full life!

I gave up on the Korg's due to the quirky style .set files and dated sounds and went for the Tyros4 which really suits the type of music i'm playing much more. Those natural and acoustic sounds and the Super Articulation are really to die for.

Good luck with your decision on what to get. You really have some wonderful choices out there.

Descisions Decisions haahaa.

A lot of the songs you & Scott play really appeal to me.
I luv the old 40'50's type music.

Hey Rikki, nice to see you back. Good luck in your Kybd search. I too have the T4 which I love.

You use a lot of 3rd party styles. Are these available commercially? Do you have any vendor names other than Yamaha?

Thanks to all for sharing your list.

Hi Don. When I refer to 3rd Party Song styles, these are custom "song specific" styles which I created using EMC StyleWorks Song to Style Converter, or obtained from D-o-o, MidiSpot, or other style creators, both commercial and private. smile

Like most, I keep a basic core group of songs and add around them. It changes constantly, but recently these are a few that I've played a lot:

Chattanooga Choo-Choo
Life is like a mountain railway
Cupid
Cry me a river
Love letters in the sand
The water is wide
There's a kind of hush
When I fall in love
Hello, Mary Lou

Hi Donny smile
Nice to see your list and realize how many of the same songs (95%) we both cover. cool
What I find interesting though is some of the keys you play(?) in, especially the songs in C# and F#.
Do you 'actually play' them in those keys? eek
If my optimal singing key is 'no more' than a 1/2 or whole step above/below the more typical piano keys (C,D,Eb,F,G,Ab,A,Bb), I'll opt to use transpose button. cool2

Scott I just transpose and play them in C...makes it easier an I can concentrate on singing and better solos also.

Donny, I play 18 of the tunes you listed on a regular basis.

Be neat to compare styles and other aspects of each others performances.

Bet there are some interesting differences.

Maybe we can do that on a visit some day.

Whew, you almost had me there. grin
And I only assume the one's in F# you play in G or F (and not shocked in C ).

Scott cool

Donny..."C" is my FAVORITE key to play in...that and "G" and "F".

I use the transposer quite a bit...also this site, http://www.wikifonia.org/sheet lets you transpose the music to any key.

Some tunes that I play by reading, are ofttimes in the original key, like Eb or A or whatever... I play them that way as it is good to keep in practice a little bit.
