I would not suggest the Midijay for a guitarist who is trying to use the Arranger features as you cannot change the tonality of the chords ... unless you use a Bass pedal and change chords .... with both feet for minors, 7ths... However to play along and record, it is perfect.

The guitarist in question will be better off with the Ketron XD3 which has these features you mentioned similar to the Roland instrument as well. I might have already cooresponded with this person.
