George, I spent 5 hours with the Midjay today, trying to help a friend use a midi guitar to play styles..A major failure unless I missed something..
Can we change the chord recognition to Pianist with out the optional footswitch?
Will this allow the Midjay to only change the chord recognition when playing 3 or more notes [like Roland keyboard arrangers].
My friend uses a Casio 380 midi guitar with a Roland RA 95...He can assign the pedal[PS15] to chord recognition..he can hold down the pedal to read a chord recognition and than play over top with out changing untill he depresses the pedal and plays another chord change...This works perfect for a guitarist..Do you think it is possible to set up the Midjay this way.? The parameters would have to be set by the Midjay..He also needs to be able to mute the lead sound and just play the Guitar sounds as an option..[in style play]..I couldn't set this up either...
If I was a guitarist trying tou use a Midjay..after this 5 hour session...I would just forget about!!
Do you have any Guitar customers that tried to use the Midjay yet?
Those that I talked to say it isn't going to do the job..

For the keyboard players that use a capable controller, the Midjay has possibilities..Changing from wave play, MP3 play and SMF play..and also style play is quick and easy...You can search any other group while any of the media is playing..On the downside...you need to use program change to select a voice[controller]. If you scroll to pick a preset voice..as you scroll and highlight it selects the highlighted voice...It would have been better to have to "enter" as the Midjay does with Wave,MP3,and Style..

Sound wise...It's got it!!!
