I think the Technote magazine is excellent value. Not all owners of Technics instruments have computers and are therefore unable to access music forums and have no other way of keeping up with what is new etc.

I have subscribed to Technote for quite a few years now and whilst sometimes there is the occasional issue where you might think that there wasn't much that appealed to you, more often than not there is always something there of interest.

For instance I found the Lilian Boucher article on "Playing by Ear" most informative and I am going to give this a go as I rely entirely on having the music before I can play.

I also welcomed the Midi Chapter. This subject is one that I have bypassed till now and reading some background on the principle is interesting in itself.

I figure that if just one article is of use to you then it is worth it. Lets face it the subscription is not exactly exhorbitant, and as a member it entitles you discount on their products. Over time I have contacted the Technote office and have always found the staff is very courteous and that their service is second to none.
