I have a Behringer Eurolive 1520 "15 PA Speaker that today, during a show, began to make a very noticable, loud rattle/vibrating type sound.

While checking the connections, I noticed there was a noise from the rear of the speaker. When I rapped my knuckles just above the input, I could hear something loose inside. The other speaker does not do this.

I got home, and popped the cover plate to the access panel/input section off. Its a circuit board of some kind, I presume...

I see...

1 section wrapped in black vinyl or electrical tape of some kind...

1 spool like thing...

3 yellow battery shaped things (1-sm, 1-med, 1 larger...)

2 white rectangles...

the small one has 10W6R8J on it...

the large one has 20W6R8J on it...

Its this one, the large one that is clearly NOT connected to the circuit board anymore.

The speaker seems to work just fine even if I lift this piece off the connection. It seems secured by a small, short wire at each end of this thing.

Questions:

Is this something that I could solder back in place?

Is this something I could try to stabilize via rubber band, light glue, etc. ??

The local repair shop will take upwards of a month to fix...So, I'd rather find another way if it wasn't too difficult..

Thanks-

Do Behringer have a forum?

Someone might have already dealt with this problem, there...

Bill,

It's pretty much impossible for me to diagnose the problem from the photos. My guess is either some of the mounting screws have vibrated loose, or you have blown the speaker and the spider is shot. Take the back off the speaker that is not rattling, then compare the two. This may provide some insight to what is making the noise.

Hope this helps,

Gary
