thats true, you can record the synths into VST , save the file to a folder you know, close cubase,open wavelab, and import the soundfile for tweaking. But,....to answer your question, I found out the same thing with my Gina soundcard....its not "multi client" meaning that only one program can use it at a time. If you are using only one sound card, youll also notice that while cubase is running, you cant use RealPlayer or any other .wav player either. Thats one reason for ReWire is so that 2 progs can run simultainiously and you can hear both. your only other option is to buy a second sound card ;~[
