I am having a problem recording VST-triggered music onto my hard disk with Sound Forge. Both apps are on my P166MMX PC running Win 95 with 64Mb. I have a Turtle Beach Pinnacle sound card installed which seems to work fine in general.
The error messages differ according to whether I attempt to record with VST running initially or with Sound Forge.
STARTING WITH VST RUNNING
I set off VST song playback, triggering four or five hardware synths which play back through my mixer. I have a send lead from the main mixer outputs into the TB card.
I go to record the resultant output playing back from the mixer into the TB 'Line In (Recordable)' mini jack socket by booting up Sound Forge to run simultaneously with VST, but get the following message from Sound Forge when preparing to record:
"The 'TBS Pro Series Wave In 1' recording device is in use by another application. Close or suspend the aplication that is using the device and try again"
If I try closing Sound Forge and using Win 95 Sound Recorder instead, I get the message:
"Another application is recording audio. Stop recording with this other application and then try to record with Sound Recorder again"
STARTING WITH SOUND FORGE RUNNING
When set SF to record and boot up VST, I get the message:
"ASIO Multimedia Driver - TBS Pro Series Wave IN 1 - Errorcodr FF7-5-000C [4] - Info: Device could not be opened. Maybe card is alreday allocated by another application of this device does not support full duplex mode".
I know that the TB card is fully duplex, and suspect that the software-set audio routing is wrong.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
