Hi Folks.
Can I ask please for advice on the purchase of a notation program?
I have Finale 2002 – an old version of Cubasis on floppy disk.
Also Personal Composer 1.3. Again an old one, but it worked well on Win98se.
However it dose not like WinXP. On advice from Personal composer I downloaded the 1.9 update they say it may work with WinXP, but alas no.
I enjoyed Personal Composer it was easy to work with, and would consider buying it again. But there maybe a better one I don’t know about!
I am looking for a simple cheap software program; all I want to do is put notes onto a single stave, and chord symbols. Just like a busker’s book format. And load in midi files to enable sheet music print out. It will not be used a lot, so I don’t think it prudent to spend much money on the program.
I am asking for recommendations from members who have such a program they have and like, the simpler the better.
If anyone can point me to a site to buy such a program. It will be appreciated.
Kind regards.
Joe.

Prints lead sheets from midi with lots of customizations.

Hi Joe,
this is an interesting program, easy to put single melody notes & chords to, ( plus lyrics) but if you're wanting to print more than the melody line, chords & lyrics, then , no. http://www.1manband.nl/busker/index.htm
Actually works with psr styles.

I've also found Power Tracks to be a pretty good program

A friend of mine uses Midi Notate another one uses Noteworthy Composer. Don't know anything about it personally http://www.notation.com/ http://www.noteworthysoftware.com

I have a music software that I use to write music on my computer its called "Music Time Deluxe" made by Pasport Designs,INC,11151 Triton Dr Ste D,Foster City,CA 94404 USA
Tel 415-349-6224 Fax 415-349-8008 UK Agents,Arbiter Group PLC
London NW9 6AX Tel 4481 202 1199 Fax 4471 379 0093

Its a very good item and works well on Windows 98SE you can write all kinds of music notation.

It was published in 1996,whether it is still available or whether another software programme has replaced it remains to be seen.
