* What's the most amount of money you've ever paid for a single musical item (i.e., an instrument or piece of musical equipment)?

* What was the item in question?

* Was it worth it?

----------------------------------
Since I'm the coolest, I'll go first:

* £1200 (equal to around $1700)
* A Les Paul
* No.

Well,

Digital audio:
just under 40 thousand for my old SONIC SOLUTION setup. About twenty thousand for PRoTools setup...

Synths:
No, never spent more then 3-4 thousand on a synth...

Guitars:
$4500
PRS custom single cut,
Basically Paul Reed Smyth's version of all time favorite Gibson Less Paul standared.

I don't regret spending money on ANY of those things,
It all payed off!

3351 I bet that is one nice Les Paul though. I just love the sound of good Les Pauls What sort of amp are you playing it through ? I use a $289 Les Paul copy with my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp and it is an amazing guitar for a cheap knock off. It's better than my Gibson Les Paul Special and my US Fender Strat with EMG pickups. http://www.synthzone.com/ubbs/Forum1/HTML/002941.html

After thinking about it a while, I should have went with;

Red Nosed American Bit Bull (studio protection)

1700 mile round trip to the bad lands of West Texas, food, chew toys, some skin, some blood, ect.

I'd have to say she has worked out flawlessly as no one seems to want to test her guarding capabilities.

It is a great Les Paul. Beats the hell out of my old Les Paul standard. I usually use it with my Krate (their version of the deluxe). It's a smokin' little AMP. I initially bought it for my bluse harp, but after running a few of my guitars through it I fell in love with the sound. VERY clear. Unlike any other Krate I ever heard.
I also have an old Twin,but it's been a little weird lately. I think the tube is on it's way out....
I used to have a collection of the old AMPegs , but it was too expensive to maintain, so I had to sell it off at an auction.

I'm not surprised that knock offs of the original Les Paul sound and feel better then the real thing. Gibson aren't building their guitars as well as they used to. I had to return a blonde ES 335 'cause even though it looked like a million bucks..it played like shit to put it mildly. So my guitar guy offered to trade the dumb blonde for a PRS single cut, provided I pay about $1500 on top. After trying the PRS I went for the deal immediately. It makes a fantastic Les Paul. Playes itself. Pickups are sweet too, especially the neck. It almost has an acoustic quality to it.

Sorry man, I spent most of my money on babes.
I always had a soft spot for 5'5" 36C-22-34 blondes in their early 20s. I just dumped one, so I'll be able to afford a .com synth afterall. YEAH!
Free Eddie!

Well my most expensive purcahse was for a Roland JX-305 that I paid $700.00 for. No it was not worth it. Should have spent the money on and MC303 instead.

The next would be my presnt computer for $799.00
