Hi Fred,

Thanks a bunch for the website. - What superb music this is. - I listened to the likes of Waller, Tatum, Wilson, and the rest, and just wanted to exchange my K7 for a piano. !!

The chord-work and syncopation these guys produce is fantastic. Makes modern music, (with it's collection of 3 chords per song), sound quite insipid. And these same guys also played for many of the rolls made for 'Pianolas'. What wonderful music it was. No miming - No electronics - No dubbing - No cheating whatsoever. Just pure skill and ability. Ah, what a different world it was. When performers could actually 'DO' what you heard.

Once again Fred, my thanks. I'll be spending quite some time on this site, and who knows, I might even learn something.

Colin.

Hi Colin,
I agree with all you have said.
I found the site about 11-30pm and did not get to bed until 4am
just listening to that fabulous playing.
I downloaded Bill Bailey to the sequencer in the KN7000,
which was in B flat transposed it to F slowed it down [a lot]
and managed to play some of the basic melody at the same
time.
It spoilt the over all affect, but I enjoyed my self doing it.
As you say, I may even learn something.
All the best,
Fred Wren

Hi Fred,
Thanks for introducing us to this marvellous site. Reminds me of when I used to play piano and tried playing transcriptions of Fats Waller, but never ever sounded like that......
