Of course, you have to actually be out on the road...

All my work, if you call playing a beautifully sounding Tyros4 several hours a day "work", is now done at home.

If I do get back to gigging, I'm definitely not working over the winters.

According to Environment Canada, we are getting some nasty weather over the next few days....do I care?

Nope.

Yeah! They're a great help to those of us without access to TV, Radio, Internet, Ham Radio, or Telephone; in other words, those of us living in remote parts of Antarctica. Thanks Donny, keep up the good work.

The low is now SE of the Jersey Shore. This has arranged the flow pattern (white arrow) in a way that's saturating the atmosphere. On radar we can see precipitation back-filling into Eastern PA. I don't expect this to back-fill any further west. It should actually start pulling away to the east now. Temperatures at all layers are crashing below freezing from NW to SE...so soon it won't be long until even SENJ is snow. I've circled the areas of highest precipitation. Expect accumulations to start now throughout the region. The Be safe!

Fortunately, we only got a trace of snow, not enough to keep me at home. Just returned from the job, Uncle Dave is looking at his weather rock that I sold him last summer, and by the end of next week, the 28 inches of snow on my lawn should be down to a smidgeon. At least I hope so.

Cheers,

Temperature plummeted here today. High was 72 yesterday, and never go past 65 today. frown Had to leave the windshield up on my golf cart!

It Ain't over yet !!!!!... surprised

We now turn attention to this Tuesday. This is the 12Z Canadian showing another clipper but more of a direct NW hit instead of a coastal back-fill like today. It currently looks like a widespread 3-6 inch event for New Jersey...maybe 1-3/2-4 for SENJ. This winter just keeps on keeping on. Be safe!

Same for here, but supposed to warm up by Thursday. 50s sure sounds good at this point.

I really do feel for those of you getting hit so hard. We've only had a touch of it here, and don't like it at all. If it were real snow it might be different, but we normally get some freezing rain, which causes lots of problems.
Right now at 11 a.m. it is 58, on the way to 70 this afternoon. The big decision is whether to play golf or go fishing.

Well, it was 28 here at 9 a.m., the snow melted down a bit during the past few days and is only two feet deep. That's why I'm in the office working in my income tax return. Damned sure wish I were out sailing in 70 degree weather instead.

2-week North America Outlook: The first 15 days of February certainly came in like a lion trending the 2nd coldest and 2nd snowiest of the past 25+ years for the U.S. as a whole and 1st snowiest in 30 years for the Northeast.

THIS WEEK: a February thaw warm up with the U.S. as a whole trending the warmest and driest in 3 years and only some light snow the 17th in the Midwest, 18th in the Northeast and 21st in New England (none look particularly big). A big warm surge will sweep the U.S. mid-week but all good things come to an end with another Arctic Cold Front moving into the Plains the 21st, Midwest 23rd and off the East Coast by the 24th ushering in much colder weather for the Eastern 1/2 of North America.

WEEK 2: the month will end with the coldest conditions in 4 years and driest in 12 for the U.S. overall. Bigger snow events still very likely with the 27th in the Great Lakes a favored period and 28th for the entire Northeast (TBD on exact timing and amounts but we think March will bring much above average snowfall to the Great Lakes and Northeast). March 1st looks to come in like a lion with the coldest conditions for the U.S. overall in 18 years.
