PSR8000

PSR9000

KN 6000

KN7000

Solton X1

GEM WK2

GEM Genesys

KORG PA80

Roland G70

I have to say wow to the KN6000 & PSR9000 demo's, what fantastic sounding boards, as they all do.

How old are these boards! And they still sound wonderful.

You still have the KN !!! That so cool. I've never had the pleasure of a Technics and judging by how the two sound here I missed out on something special. The only other brand I've not owned is a Roland, the G70 sounds pretty special too and I have to say by far the best piano sound hands down out of them all.

I think the features are pretty spot on with most boards these days, unless you were thinking of anything specific? I'm certainly wanting a touch screen on any future Tyros or 'S' series if it's to gain my interest, it's surely a must now, miss using it from the PA1X days. There's only so much life those buttons on the sides of the display can last for.

What's the OS like and what would you compare it to?

I've only owned two brands - technics (kn1000 and 6000) and KORG (Pa600 and 900)- but the technics is the easiest, most user friendly I have ever used ... from when I was first trying arrangers back in the early 90's, having tried Roland and Yamaha, the simplicity of operation of the kn1000 sold me after about 5 minutes, and the kn6000 was just as easy, even though it was way ahead of the curve for KBs at that time ...
KORG had a greater learning curve, but I think that was due in part to the USER GUIDE not being specific enough in its instructions ... I now think the KORG has a lot of the same 'theory' in operation as did the technics ... perhaps other boards are the same, I just haven't had experience with them ...

Thanks Tony. I also found the Korg's slightly more complex to other brands, but have much improved since the i30, I found that a nightmare to use, the PA80 and PA1X were much simpler. I've found Yamaha always being the easiest to use, GEM weren't too bad either.

I am so tempted towards a PA900, I do miss having a Korg around the place I must admit, but I also would love to try a Technics although I don't know if I'd ever find a decent KN6000 (or higher) in decent condition.
