Hi Nigel,

Tx. One of our visions is to secure sponsorship to erect orphanages throughout South Africa. You will not believe the percentage of 12 & 13 year old school girls giving birth in this country. You will also not believe the drug trafficing amongst the young people in the townships over here.

We are going to try our utmost best to try to help with these situations.

Quote:
South Africa’s health ministry recently released statistics showing that almost 5,000 schoolgirls in Johannesburg became pregnant in just one school year.

Keep well my friend,

Henni

Hi TWD,

The engine gave in. Two heads cracked, two sleeves cracked, one conrod bent, pistons broken, valves bent. We were driving on the open road when she just cut out, like if the ignition was disconnected. No noises of any sorts. I thought it was something minor, instead it turned out to be major indeed. And I always drove her gently, no hard driving of any sorts.

Because over here the Rover is imported, I was quoted half what I payed for her to get her fixed. I'm afraid we no longer have our mercy vehicle that went where very few Landrovers go.

When we opened up our sound trailer for the first time in four months over the weekend, my big bass bins fell apart. They got damp. Those speakers are the very heart of our sound system... I have to replace those now.

Giving to the poor is an extremely unthankfull business. If I tell you about the financial losses & frustrations we've suffered, especially during the previous two months, I make you a solemn promise that you will not believe me. It reads like some horror fairy tale. The above are just two minor incidents.

But we'll continue. Some time or other someone with the means will take note of us just as we take note of & care for others. This is a promise that we received from Him. And I think the time is getting ripe for that.

Anyway, enough sulking. Thanks for enquiring my friend.

All the best,

Henni

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Henni. Sounds like your timing belt snapped from the huge ammount of damage - a part costing two figures breaks and the damage is four figures! Happens to so many cars. Did you find replacement Bass speakers?

Hi TWD,

No, not yet. I must take my boxes apart. Maybe the speakers are still okay & then all I need are new wooden boxes. I really hope this is the case as the amp, xover & mixer are still working fine. Also, luckily the two Fane speaker boxes seem to be okay.

Our sound was pathetic this weekend and I miss our bass bins.

We left our house last year to go & live right next to a 3 500 resident squatters camp to minister to those. To do so, we had to live for six months in an extremely vandalized house without any water pipes or electrical cables. We spent the whole of winter without water or electricity.

Since then, the sound trailer had to stay outside, even in the rain and now this is the result of that. Luckily we are once again living in a decent house and everything is once again well protected against the elements.

As for the Rover - yes, you are most probably right. But we've learned not to cry over spilled beans. We carry on. Sooner or later we'll have a decent vehicle again. In the meantime, the small Opel will have to do what the Rover used to do. Our sound trailer is small, but with the power generator compact & heavy & I will not attempt towing it for a great distance with the Opel. So for the time being we are focusing on the immediate area around us.

Keep well my friend,

Henni

I used to have a white van the same as your car (a 1986 Vauxhall Astramax) , it was suprisingly able to move quite a bit of weight (tonewheel hammond's in the back) The van was worth about £250 at the time and more than once I had £28,000 of new Hammond and Leslie inside smile Everyone probably thougt it was full of copper pipes and old boilers!

But towing is different to having the weight inside the vehicle and its likely to be unstable. I am certain something will come up for you.
