Since I have no idea the starting serial numbers that Technics did on the KN7000, what would be considered an early number on the keyboard? I am assuming they didn't start with number one or did they? I have a chance at buying a KN7000 with what I consider a low serial number but it might not be. Not knowing how many KN7000 boards were made I would like to know. My concern is that do any of you think there were any problems on the first few released and is it better to get one with a bigger serial number?

I'm pretty impressed by you guys who can crawl round the back of your machines to read the serial number...

My first one : EVLGA001289 - No problems at all.
My other one : EVLFA001034 - Again, No problems.

Incidentally, both were manufactured in Malaysia (Johor) which is the very southern tip of Malaysia, just North of Singapore.

Rog - the Serial Numbers are on the underside toward the Left end and isn't it time you updated your Location? Royal !!

Hi Bill - I must practice that limbo dancing...!
Don't get me going on the subject of 'Royal' Wootton Bassett - I was part of the original group of folk who thought it was right and proper to stand and doff cap as the hearses came past....the very last thing we wanted was all the publicity shenanigans which followed once the media got their great big size nines encamped in the High St; then of course you get those that suck up to the media for their 5 minutes of fame...no I do NOT want to be associated with 'Royal' etc etc

Hello Technics fans,
I wish I could say I have never had any KN7000 problems
Our serial number here in New Zealand is 1158
Should be easy for us to read since the K7 has gone bell-up

Hope someone on the Technics Forum has an answer to our unusual problem as now listed on the current Technics Forum

Thanks from Dave L. [ in New Zealand ]

I bought one of the early units in the USA. It is Serial EVL1A001422 (the number 1 after the EVL may be an I). No problems other than a few worn out key caps. I have no idea how many hours it has been played. It is used every day, including student use.

My second unit is at a student's home. Bought it used. Don't have access to the serial number for that one. It works perfectly and actually looks better than the one above. I have had it about six years.

I just noticed a KN7000 Serial EVLH001642 that looks to be in mint condition on eBay. It is in Chicago. The seller wants $3,000 with free shipping in the US. In my opinion that's much too high a price regardless of condition. I paid less than that for mine when it was new . . .
