Yep, seems to be a very common complaint, and considering that styles are considered the heart of any arranger, a valid one, to be sure.

Donny you got that right!! That's my only disappointment with the Pa2xPro. But with 76 keys and "Songbook" its keeping me happy. I have found workarounds in the style department. I anxiously await OS2 and hope that more styles are released.

Steve......

I gotta tell it like it is......I was happy with the KORG features to a point....but the most important thing is the styles...I was disappointed with the lack of them, the ones they provide are really good & being able to mix/match/edit is a big plus....BUT conversions stink, & there is not enough for my needs & the Korg way of doing things with the folder system is even worse & annoying compared to Yamaha, & Roland's OS...these two things alone made me decide to switch to something else.

I'll say it again. There are many useful styles that are PLENTY enough to do anything (I) want to play....and this is coming from someone that uses style playing only (I) just have to use my imagination.

(I) was very skeptical about dumping the incredible S900, but after working with the PA800 for almost a year now, (I) am soooo happy this board has unleashed (my) creativity. And now the prize might be even more goodies up ahead - how awesome.

It's nice to see the Korg limited number of styles work out for you, Zuki, but I am sure you are one of a very small number of users that can do the workaround and make the lack of styles a positive attribute, rather than a negative.

Ian,

Yep, have to be brave enough to go that route of trying new stuff. It works for me and my audience, which is the true test.

I surely did love the Yamaha style convenience, but 'different' is a very good thing in a competitive venue.

Appreciate your understanding...

I think Abacus was saying the Korg live is much better sounding than the demos

Well, if any one can make it work...it would be you...I've heard some of your work (with the Yammie)some time ago, and it was beyond reproach...you have your own unique style...I think the song I heard was an original.

And I agree..."different" is what gets people's attention....but it has to be good "different".

Great to see someone playing "outside the box".

Thanks Ian, you're all too kind

Yes, that song was written about our son. The wife wrote the lyrics and I wrote the music. I plan to put that in my repetoire, but haven't put a Korg style to it yet! This is a case where the Yammy version might be best

I've actually have had a relative success converting all my Yamaha and other styles over the Korg using EMC Styleworks. I use Midi song to style and that works relatively well. Once in the Pa2, I tweak them a little.

Yes you need to use .SET files, but once open you can import them into any Favorites slot or even the Core styles with ease.

I'm seeing the same issue with the lack of styles that most people have?
