For the entertainers that include MP3 or CD&G files in their show, I have found a site for downloading at .99 each, including the embedded lyrics.

I have a software player

This is an economical way to build a library for your laptop. To go a step further, I just found an interesting piece of software for your Ipod type device, that loads the lyrics along with the MP3, and displays them.

Bernie, you have mail.

Also, try www.vanbasco.com for a very good FREE karaoke and midi player. Good search engine too.

I can read it with my 1.8 in Sansa, but a 2.5 or more would be better. I was talking about gigs without my laptop. If I needed projectors or monitors, I would spend nothing and use the LT.

Bernie,

Do I have this correct?

The software allows you to take a wav or MP3 and add original lyrics or whatever lyrics you want to it. You then save the whole thing as a CD+G?

You can take any CD+G you now have and change the lyrics?

You can remove the lead vocal and save it again...minus the lead vocal?

And then you burn about a dozen of these to disc, and presto...you have a customized Karaoke disc?

Do you use this software yourself? Does it work flawlessly?

MC

I posted the wrong link to the player I was referring to. It is : http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_powercdgplayerpro.php

I am not familiar with the software you are descibing, although I can tell you that Power Karaoke has many new apps that they have added. They are very helpful in answering questions, and advise downloading the free trial before buying. I have the player, burner, creator, and just added the converter. The converter will convert any CD&G to video formats, to load into Ipods, and the like. The lyrics sync very well with the MP3 track. I have not had the need for the Karaoke Creator, so cannot comment.

My only reason for posting, was to illustrate an inexpensive way to buy CD&G tracks for laptop, and Ipods. The converter rip from a disk, or convert from a file on your hard drive($39). The player works great on a pc or laptop($39)

He makes a good point about getting rid of the computer and sticking to 'training' ...
