How many gals and guys here..are selling off[at least not using] their outboard harmonizers..

Digitech seemingly the benchmark in harmonizer technology. TC the other biggy..

Over the last year, I have seen a complete turnaround from what I think works best for..to the point ...I sold both my Digitech workstations..and I don't miss them a bit..

First , I found that my Tune 1000 harmonybox was a cleaner[better quality] unit than my Digitechs..It has only a vocoder mode, but that is the only mode I used with my G1000..It offered me better flexibility with the G1000..and a more pleasing result..

Second, My DisCover5 harmonizer...finding out just how much better this harmonizer is...over absolutely any harmonizer I have used or heard..including my previous favorite[T1000 HarmonyBox]..
The DisCover harmony has so many usable features and presets[96]..It is by far the easiest to use, and absolutely the best sounding[to me}..
Tell me your stories?

Here are some videos of the Discover5 from Roland:

Discover5 Vocal Harmonist Demo

Discover5 Vocoder Demo

Discover5 Voice FX Demo

I bought a TC Helicon Voice Live a couple years or so ago and found getting around the different menus and settings a little confusing. The Harmony effects were nothing to write home about if you ask me although a few of them were pretty decent. I ended up taking it back because of the less than intuitive interface even though the Voice Live was specifically made for Live performance use. I'm still using my Tyros VH and found that after setting the Master EQ and effects for it that it is actually quite passable for OMB work.

I will make sure my next high end Arranger has a stellar VH onboard. My Tyros is passable as I said but my next Board must surpass it and hopefully by leaps and bounds. I don't want an external if at all possible because of the hassle of packing, setting up, and tearing down an extra piece of gear along with the cabling that goes with it. If we pay $3,000 [£1,592] or more for a keyboard shouldn't we expect a top notch VH to be included onboard? I know I do..

Best regards,
Mike
