This is a more recent song I did last year I think.

This was sequenced on a computer using free programes which I abtained from ComputerMusic magazine (thanks to them!), also some Trinity, the recorder plays the solo once with a lot of delay effect.

Actually, I couldn't find the completed version, so this version is apparently missing the solo at about 1:20 and again at about 3:10. Also, the fade out isn't quite spot on. One more point: the mp3 conversion seems to have sucked quite a bit out of the sound.

However only a handful of people have ever heard this track, so I would really appreciate your comments on this one.

Enjoy! http://s52.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0IQ89C40QRD9T2YKOWXKY8C9NX

Thanks tcon and twonuts, I appreciate the comments. You've given me encouragement to do more of this kind of work, because I havn't been doing sequencing in over a year.

Thanks Tony, I don't have so much with the violin, because a lot of it I did when we were living in seperate countries, however, here's another, faster Klezmer-type one, which was on the same CD as the other track with the violin on the other thread (I never did anything with the CD in the end). Hope you enjoy it! http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=34I20DMB734WZ3IIFH0RZS2QZ9

Zalmi,
that's really cool! I love the combination of modern rhytms and traditional sounds (the violin). Who wrote the music?

Hi there Dreamer!
I assume you're referring to the second more lively tune (it gets confusing with more than one song in a thread) - I thought actually the rythm was not modern - it's a Klezmer rythm, maybe this is a kind of updated version of the rythm - not sure.

All these tunes are old Jewish Hasidic melodies. This particualr one is about 80 years old I think. Some of the others are older - 200 years or more.

Thanks BluesPlayer.

Did anyone notice the heavy use of reverb? I deliberately used a lot - especially fade in and out - to give the impression of entering a large hall and then exiting. It doesn't sound quite right to me now, though. Especially I think there shouldn't be so much reverb on the bass.

What do you think?
