Almost ready to pull the trigger on one of these babies, but need to know which case my fellow SynthZoners recommend for the 3k.. I like the Kaces models, and have one already for my PSR2K, but don't know if the 3K is the same size.

Anyone?

Hello............I bought a Gator medium (not hard or soft) case for my 3000. I love it and it was under $100. It has very strong handles, and wheels too!! I added some thick black foam that fits around the board when it is strapped in place. There's also room inside for the adapter, cables and music rack, and another zippered compartment on the outside. I've used it 4 times over the holidays. It's sure better than the cardboard box!! -charley

I think the Kaces Porter #7 will fit. I'm quite sure I checked into that when thinking of getting a 3000.

According to Ace's chart, the 9kb is the best bet for the PSR2100, and by extension, for the PSR3000. This is the Case that I use. http://www.kraftmusic.com/static/charts/ace0404.pdf

I like the Kace bag because of the 1) double pockets, 2) ample fit (I keep a tupperware container next to the keyboard that has a/c adapter, headset mic, and mic cable), and 3) low price.

Heads up. Keep a piece of foam in the case that covers the top of the keyboard. My PSRs used to get all scratched up and once an LCD got cracked. No more.

I prefer not to go with a case with rollers because I like a carrier that can handle my keyboard, keyboard stand, and speakers in one trip.

Good luck!

The dimensions of the PSR2000/2100/3000 all show to be 38-5/16 x 15-11/16 x 6-5/16.

If the Kaces Porter KKP7KB is still the same dimensions as always, I would highly recommend it. I believe there are a lot of players on SZ that would agree with this from what I have seen.

While the Kaces chart shows that the KKP9KB is the one to pick, a lot of us used the KKP7KB instead because it was a nice snug fit, so the kb didn't slide or bounce around. It is much smaller than the "oxie" KKP9KB which I use for my Tyros. This #9 case is much bigger than I really care to move around to the point that I seriously have considered getting a PSR3000 just so I can use the KKP7KB which I kept when I sold my PSR2000.

Because of the snug fit you will not need any other padding to protect your kb.

The #7 easily fit into my trunk and the #9 barely fits into my back seat.

Just my point of view.
Scott

Scott is in a sense right. To the right of the keyboard I keep a tupperware container that holds my 1) power supply, 2) headset mic, and 3) mic cable. Over the keyboard I keep a piece of foam (very important no matter what in my opinion). On top of the foam I have space for 1) music stand, 2) footswitch contraption, and 3) 15ft extension cord.

Nothing slips around, and the most delicate part of the keyboard is protected very well.

I put my 1) gig bag, 2) keyboard stand, and 3) two speaker bags on top of my oversized luggage carrier, and that's all I ever need for my nursing/retirement home gigs.

I am curious about where the people who use the KB7 keep their accessories like footswitches, music stand, cables, etc.

The foam I use is cut from a mattress cover that I got at KMart. It is kind of eggshell in design.
