Took 20 minutes or so to fool around with my new toy this morning. The drums are awful, but, hey, it's a $500.00 keyboard, and I never intended it to be used as anything more than a piano (no arranger function). Actually, I was only intending to use it in my office, but I already have a Clavinova 65 and a Suitcase Rhodes plugged in and ready to go.

The organs are so good that I think I'll use the Casio on a two tier stand with my MS-60 now, replaced with an SD-5 when it's available, on the 2nd tier. The Solton 13 note pedalboard fits below the piano nicely. The Casio is good enough to replace my Hammond XB-2, and then I'd also have far superior pianos than are on the Solton. This would be on my house job.

One problem...the amplification is good...even good enough for small jobs, but bass response is terrible. When using the organ settings, you can't try to play left-hand basss, even at less than half volume without overdriving the speakers, resulting in popping, distortion, etc.this was after asdjusting the bass settings.

The goods news is, I'm more than happy with my purchase. George was dead on with his recommendation. Instead of a "beater" this will be an instrument I'll use for it's great piano sounds, action and Organ, with leslie controlled with the modulation wheel. It's the best simulated Leslie I've heard, and that includes my Motion Sound.

George's valuable input is this: Trust, product knowledge, and I wouldn't have known how to even access the operating system enough to test it in a timely manner here at the local store that carries the line.

Would I recommend this Casio? Yes, when used as a piano or organ. Would I buy again from George? Already have, and will again.

I'll give a more detailed technical report in a few weeks when I get to really test it.

For $500.00, this thing is a real bargain. If you need a great sounding 88 key piano, with the bonus of great organ sounds, this is it!

George, YOU ROCK!

Hi everyone.

I’ll be glad if you answer me some question about WK-8000 (3300/3800).

At first I’d like to know how layers sounds are work in this machine – what will be if I play a piano sound and some strings sound as a layer (not a GM one) with sustain pedal pressed – will the strings sound be playing till I release the pedal or it will fade out when I release the note (key) (like in Yamaha’s keyboards)?

Second, according to the manual the save and load operations using an SD-cart can take from a few minutes to more than 30 minutes. Does it like to be true?

Thirdly, do you know what Touch Sense mode is selected by default (1, 2, or 3)?

And finally, I wonder if there are some limitation on the number of songs that I can white on the SD card except the amount of cards memory itself?

Thank you very much,
Best regards, Sergey K.

I played a job in Breax Bridge, LA, Monday night. My friend, Bob Bryant, an immensely talented piano player, went along and played my Casio WK 3200. Fantastic piano and organ sounds. The $300. keyboard outshines the G70 in those two areas.
Maybe they will get the rest of it right in the future.

I know you are joking but, by friend Bob played with Ray Price, and he (Bob) likes the sound.

I just purchased a Yamaha YPG625 keyboard and I think the grand piano is better on the Yamaha then on the Casio WK-3700. Having said that, I think many of the other tones are better on the Casio WK-3700 than on the Yamaha. One example is the draw organ.
I purchased the YPG because of the weighted piano keys and Grand Piano tones. I looked at the Privia 110 and 310 but decided on the Yamaha as it has so many more tones than both of the above and allows me to use it as an arranger as well.

Linda good luck with the YPG625. I played one a couple of weeks ago and liked the weighted action. It's hard to believe that Yammie puts an action like that with 88 keys in a $749 piano and can't(won't) do it with a high end arranger.
