Pete Townsend + Roger Daltry have decided to continue with the WHO tour . I really do not aggree with their decision . Couldn't they at least give their life long friend a funeral ?

They should at least have waited a month or 2 or 3 before the show goes on .

I am a long time fan of the WHO . I am disappointed that the corporate world has caught up to my favorite group . To much money at stake ! dano

They don't need the money. I think they're doing it for the fans. The show must go on .... and all that. Working through greif is a great catharsis ... maybe they NEED to see the fans to put their old friend to rest?
There is great emotional drive in times of grief or bliss .... this tour might just be terrific. Anyone can cover the bass parts, so it will still souind like the Who. John was not that visible an image to the show. All eyes were on Pete and Roger.
I think it's a good decision.

I'm not sure what to think on this one DanO... I don't know about a month , but maybe a little longer than they did,
Little E went racing a week after his dad died at Daytona.. I don't know... put the tour off a week maybe ? I think if it were me I'd have waited a little longer but hey..it isn't me so who's to say.

John Entwistle was easily my favorite member of the band. One of my all time favorite albums as a kid was Whistle Rhymes, which like most of his releases, was fairly obscure. Although Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend take the front spotlight, A Who show could never be the same for me without John Entwistle playing bass.

I'm sure the promoters made the loss of money issue part of the decision to continue the tour. sad everything is Money these days regardless....sad.

I hope I die before I get old..
Tough call...Do the tour or not?
For someone who stuck it out as long as J.E. did, I'd almost want to to think that he'd like to go out that way, being remembered in music, even if he ain't there.
You can fill the position, but never fill the shoes.
So Long John...Thanks for the memories.

Agree. I saw them in 89 on one of their first reunion tours. The whole stage was filled with musicians -- brass section, singers, additional guitar player (Steve Boltz, a lot better than Pete) not just the quartet. Even so, everyone could feel John's bassline through the floor. Incredible. I've seen a lot of concerts, but very few can hold a candle to that show. John was a VERY big presence on the stage.
