I remember reading (quite a while back), following Cakewalk Sonar's support for OPT (open plug-in techonoloy) 3rd party software plug-ins, there would be a 'Plug in' available (from Yamaha?) which would (finally) allow Sonar to recognize & edit Yamaha exclusive midi (XF) meta event data. This Yamaha system exclusive midi data (sysex string beginning with FF) includes the important "chord name" data required to trigger both auto accomp & vocal harmonies, and is included in midi files created on Yamaha PSR/Tyros keyboards. Unfortunately, until a 3rd party software Plug-in becomes available, this 'chord name' data can only be recognized with Yamaha XG Works software. Anybody have any news on this specific 'plug-in' development? Thanks. - Scott

Scott, not much may happen given Yamaha is now in competition with Cakewalk.

That's a real shame! Given the fact that XGWorks is no longer supported by Yamaha, what midi-audio sequencer software program is Yamaha promoting (which recognizes Yamaha exclusive data XF files) to compete with Cakewalk Sonar? - Scott
