I posted this question here because others may be interested in the answer. I've played around with a Yamaha PSR-K1 and I was wondering if you can tell me if the K1's Performance Assistant feature will work from a live MIDI input? In other words (and this is why I'm asking), can I be playing something on my keyboard and via MIDI allow a non-musician to "jam" on the K1 in the proper key? There's no documentation that'll answer this that I can find and I'll bet the only way to know is to try it. Thanks for your help.

Here is the answer from Yamaha.
"The Performance Assistant only works with Song data in the K1. The
incoming MIDI data stream is not Song data as far as the K1 is
concerned. Bottom line: it doesn't work. Sorry."
