All of us know the problem of archiving our music-sheets :
How to do it... using what system ?

Many times I'm sure I have a certain song, but finding it is a crime !

Today I got an archive of 3320 (!!) songs scanned music-sheets and the quality is amazing. Songs where I've been looking for all my life .......are on this single CD.

Most song-sheets contain 2, 3 or 4 pages but for example Sultans of Swing has 18 pages.

My next job will be : Scan my own archive and put it on CD(s) too.

WOW, Impressive! I can't imagine the number of hours it must have taken to scan all that in. Have you ever considered the "MusicPad Pro", a device which will allow you to display your entire scanned song collection on an electronic sheet music viewer?

I had originally considered purchasing the MusicPad Pro to make a custom fakebook, but considering the time it would take for me to scan my entire collection in, decided againest it. Btw, do you recommend any specific brand/model scanner which provides both quality scans and can scan quickly? How long do you think it would take to scan in approx. 500 songs ? - Scott

Hi

Sounds interesting. Where did you get the CD? It sounds like something I would like if it was available.

I made a terrible mistake !! .... sorry for that !

I wrote "3320 songs"....... but in fact there are 3920 (!!) songs.

It seems everyone agrees, CD storage is ideal to archive music sheets ??
