Is this just Yamaha's typical past practice (again?) of continously promising US delivery and then repeatedly moving back the date again and again (and again)?

Just two days ago, I heard from an official Yamaha dealer that the first shipment of Tyros into the US was due to arrive on November 14th, now I got word from them that Yamaha (last minute) changed the date to January 10th, 2003. Steve, What's the REAL story here?

It looks as if my prediction of about a year ago, that we would not see a Tyros until 2003 is very close to accurate.
Yamaha always does this. And it works--half the world seems to be waiting for the Tyros. I hope it is half as good as the hype.

Well, if they stall too long, they will be able to sell mine to someone else, because I'll have a different board.

Get on the stick Yamaha this is not good salesmanship.
I need to be jammin' on,

I feel the same and I'm considering moving on with my next selection....for the same dollars there are other boards with the same specs and more that are available right now! Lou

Lou,
Well if their plan was like Donny says here marketing hype = more sales.....sounds like it's about to backfire with you and me. In our case and 2 others I know of....we're all considering different boards now that may not be Yamahas.....hmmmm 4 x $3k= $12k less in sales give or take a few bucks.

So what school of marketing did the marketing manager at Yammy actually go to? Someone check his credentials will you. Bad plan duuuuuuude.

Didn't someone say: Absence makes the heart grow fonder and the rebuttal said: out of sight out of mind!

Lou,
LOL.....How true how true...those cowboys better not stall too long or my desire will be gone......long gone.

I have the attention span of a 3 year old so they were already beyond my waiting limit with the original October date.

Perhaps, they are having a hard time finding and hiring enough of those little guys with guitars inside?
