I picked up a Peavey Escort system from my dealer and tried it on two occasions. First was in a supper club last weekend, and today I used it for two Nursing Home shows (about 60-70 people each).
I found it to be extremely easy to load, set up and use. It is self-contained and has wheels. The sound is very clean and it covers the complete range of lows, mids and highs.
We did a two-piece show--me on the PSR2000, my partner on fiddle and both on vocals.
I ran my mic through the keyboard in order to use the harmonizer. The other mic and fiddle were through the Escort, and the on-board reverb and e.q. was more than adequate.
The Escort has 5 channels. Three are XLR-capable, one is 1/4-inch stereo and the other RCA stereo in and out.
It has phantom power built in and total set-up time was about 5 minutes.
One thing I missed was the lack of an aux. send/return. I had to run my mic directly into the keyboard.
You can use the RCA stereo channels as a "system" send to a monitor system if necessary.
For small to medium-size jobs, I can recommend this little PA system.

Don,
I've been recommending and selling the Peavey Escort since it came out last year. My customers like it's size and sound. I used to sell a lot of Fender Passports until the Peavey came out. It's a lot of bang for the buck! The power is 75 watts per channel(it is stereo) and there is a 5 band graphic master EQ besides individual control for bass and treble on each channel. The Escort even comes with a mic and cable, 2 speaker stands, speaker cables and everything packs up inside the case. There is even two side compartments inside to hold several mics and cables. It's built out of the same type cabinets as SKB cases.
Enjoy,
George Kaye

Did you say you 'fiddled' around with your 'Peavey'?

Don and George,

The Fender Passport 150 (75 Watts x2) also has interesting features, speaker cables, mic, and a set of options (adapter to battery, battery for total autonomy, carry bag), and everything packs in a small and lightweight case (10 Kg). The big difference between this system and the Peavey Escort is probably the sound quality. Am I right?

Don,

Should I take this to mean that you are running an Escort service?
