I agree on the Oboe as well,although the French Horn would be a nice touch as well.
Maybe start with the Oboe and switch to French Horn to broaden the sound.The strings sound very impressive,even on my laptop.
I am a big LOTR fan,having read the books over 25 years ago,and even getting the audio books on 12 cassettes(made by the BBC) so I listen in my car.
The movies are unbelievable...true to Tolkien's visions, and having music, that can only be described as breathtaking(like the scenery)and very emotionally charged(like the story).
Great recording,nice improvisation and arrangement.
