What's more interesting Russ is that now that more information has come out about the actual call (including the released 911 audio) is that the (1st party) to the call didn't mention anything about two black men with back packs.., and was clearly heard saying she was unsure of their ethnicity.

What's so interesting about it is the woman who called (didn't even want to call in the first place) she wasn't from the neighborhood but placed the call after repeated requests from an elderly woman who DOES live in the neighborhood.

I think both Gate's and the officer got out of line.., and tempers on both sides got heated.

I think this case is an excellent example of what happens when CITIZENS profile eachother and based on paranoid stereotypes abuse their local Police Departments by placing these calls. It puts the Police in a bad spot because they just respond to the call.

Do Police Officers profile..., ABSOLUTELY! We know it's wrong and shouldn't happen.., but I don't think this issue with Gate's and the Mass. Police Department was a case of "Police Profiling". Here we have a woman who (didn't live in the neighborhood) place a call to the Police based on a paranoid elderly woman who lived in the neighborhood.

It's interesting over the years that you live in a neighborhood and you look back and ask yourself the question "Do I know my neighbors, and do they really know me?"
