That's great you were even able to find one nowadays. I do remember Hagstrom guitars ( Swedish aren't they ? ) and I had one friend who had a black Hagstrom that was very similar in design and sound to a Les Paul. But that was in 1975 and I think it was about the last time I saw one.

Did you get a good deal on it from the music store you found it in ? Are you now using that in your band ?
