Thanks for your kind comments - glad to help......
With reference to your question Ted, I have already put a collection of 'Tech Tips' on my website and will probably add the current topic in the near future, since it seems to be of interest.

Thanks Colin for suggesting another method - as you say - more than one way to skin the proverbal cat

Some further thoughts on the subject.......

You obviously have to listen to the components of the two styles which you wish to 'mix and match' to make sure that they are compatible. There would be little point in replacing the Intro or Ending of say the 'Lounge Piano' style with the Intro or Ending of a Big Band style. It would be worthwhile listening to and making notes of compatible Intros/Endings, for a particular style, before carrying out the procedure.

Let's call the style to be modified, the 'Target' style and the style or styles from which the replacement components are derived, the 'Donor' style or styles. If the Target is already in the Composer and the Donor or Donors are in the built-in Rhythm Group of the KN7000, then it is not really necessary to copy the Donor style or styles, into the Composer. Just make sure that the Target style in the Composer, is selected in the TO box - ie MEMORY A:, B: or C:. Then define the Donor style GROUP, RHYTHM and PATTERN in the FROM box, using the buttons at the bottom of the PATTERN COPY screen. By using this method, you can extract individual components from any of the built-in Donor styles, to replace the components of the Target style. It is a personal choice, but I generally locate the Target style in Composer Memory A:

If the Donor style is in the CUSTOM memory, then it will not be possible to access the style using the above method - it will have to be copied into the Composer memory, before the components can be accessed.

Assuming that the Target Style is already resident in Composer Memory A:
1. Press Program Menus > Composer > Custom Style Copy
2. In the CUSTOM STYLE COPY screen, Press the DIRECTION button until CUSTOM STYLE: x appears in the FROM box.
3. Press the MEMORY BANK button to select MEMORY BANK : B in the TO box.
4. Select the Donor style in the FROM box by using the CUSTOM STYLE buttons at the bottom of the screen.
5. Press OK and the chosen Donor CUSTOM style will be copied into Composer Memory B:
6. Press EXIT once and then PATTERN COPY.
7. In the FROM box, use the RHYTHM button to select Memory B: and then use the same basic procedure otlined in 'Changing the Intros and Endings' , to replace the desired components in the Target style, from the Donor style.
