Let's assume that the two styles to be used for modification are in the KN7000 Rhythm Group - ie Built-In Styles. The styles used should of course be of the same time signature eg both 4/4. One or both of the styles could also already be in the Composer Memory - say in Memory A and Memory B.

If the styles are not already in Composer, then they should first be copied to the composer. To illustrate the procedure, we can use two of the styles in the Jazz&Swing group - say Jazz Combo and Swing Combo. The aim will be to replace the Intros and Endings in Jazz Combo with those of Club
Combo. The procedure can also be carried out, by just copying one of the built-in styles to Composer and using components directly from another built in style. However, I prefer to have both styles resident in the composer, since it makes it easier to move components to and from both styles. Having become familiar with the process, then you should be able to simplify the procedure, by just copying the Target style whose Intros / Endings you wish to modify, to the Composer Memory A:

First - Copy Jazz Combo to Composer A and Club Combo to Composer B

1. Program Menus > Composer > Pattern Copy
2. In the 'FROM' box, use GROUP buttons to select JAZZ & SWING.
3. Use RHYTHM buttons to select Jazz Combo
4. Use PATTERN buttons to select ALL.
5. In the 'TO' box, use MEMORY buttons to select Memory A: and PATTERN buttons to select ALL
6. Press 'OK' - the entire Jazz Combo style will now be copied to Composer Memory A:
7. Use RHYTHM buttons to select Club Combo
8. Use PATTERN buttons to select ALL.
9. In the 'TO' box, use MEMORY buttons to select Memory B: and PATTERN buttons to select ALL
10. Press 'OK' - the entire Jazz Combo style will now be copied to Composer Memory B:
11. Press EXIT Once to return to the COMPOSER MENU screen.

So, we now have the Jazz Combo style in Composer A: and the Club Combo style in Composer B:

Changing the Intros and Endings

1. In the COMPOSER MENU screen, Press PATTERN COPY
2. In the FROM Box, Set GROUP to MEMORY, RHYTHM to B:Club Combo and PATTERN to INTRO1 maj
3. In the TO Box, Set MEMORY to A: Jazz Combo and PATTERN to INTRO1 maj
4. Press OK and at the Warning prompt, Press YES
5. In the FROM Box, Set PATTERN to INTRO2 maj
6. In the TO Box, Set PATTERN to INTRO2 maj
7. Press OK and at the Warning prompt, Press YES
8. In the FROM Box, Set PATTERN to ENDING1 maj
9. In the TO Box, Set PATTERN to ENDING1 maj
10. Press OK and at the Warning prompt, Press YES
11. In the FROM Box, Set PATTERN to ENDING2 maj
12. In the TO Box, Set PATTERN to ENDING2 maj
13. Press OK and at the Warning prompt, Press YES
14. Press Program Menus to return to the Home Screen.

We should now have the Jazz Combo style in Composer A: but with ALL the Intros and Endings changed to those of Club Combo.
It is also possible to replace any of the other components in the Jazz Combo, with those in the Club Combo, such as the Fill-Ins, by selecting the appropriate component in the above steps. You could also choose to replace Intro1 of Jazz Combo with Intro2 of Club Combo, or replace any of the
Fill-ins of Jazz Combo, with any of the Fill-ins from Club Combo.
You could even copy another total style into Composer C: , using the first part of the procedure, and select some components from that style, to replace some of the components in the style in Composer A:
It is even possible to replace a Fill-In with an Intro or Ending and it behaves just like a Fill-In !! or, replace an Intro or Ending with a Fill-In and it behaves just like an Intro or Ending!!

Finally, don't forget to save your 'new' style to SD card, since Composer Memory is volatile.............

Have Fun.............
