i've never had the opportunity to use the new xk-1, but i own an xk-2 that kicks. i'm always surprised by the presence of tone this thing has, even up against two half stacks and full bass rig.

it is, however, very bulky and heavy. if i had to get it all over again, i would seriously look at the xk-1 or xk-3 (the 3 has a tube preamp, im fairly certain)
