Good point, although players just designed for data have almost disappeared, fortunately if it is a computer then you can buy a USB drive, otherwise you may be in trouble.
The easiest way these days is to store it in an SSD or USB stick formatted to FAT32, as this can be recognised by pretty much anything, and has great longevity.
