I agree in principle but as a practical matter, it's nearly impossible to be a normal consumer and avoid everything that has direct or indirect (parts, raw materials, etc.) ties to China. We gave up that option when we made the decision to go for 'cheap' over quality AND turn a blind eye to 'sweat shops' and child labor abuses. Sorry folks, you can't have it both ways; it's either Walmart (a double predator) and cheap prices or 'do the right thing' and pay a little more. Unfortunately, the extreme income disparity in this country makes Walmart the 'reluctant?' choice for a large segment of the population. Changing this situation will be a major political and economic challenge.
