I think there are all kinds of reasons people buy new keyboards. Some just have to have the latest, greatest thing out there, no other reason needed. Others may be intrigued by the new styles and improved sounds that a new model may offer. Others upgrade because a new model may now contain operational features that better meets their needs. In this last group, there are many who 'love' some of the styles in their old keyboard, utilize them regularly, and wouldn't dream of abandoning them. A 'better' version of some of those styles may not even exist on the new model and the person may lack the patience or expertise to try to recreate them on the new KB. But in the end, whether or not you choose to add 'legacy' styles to your new KB or try to recreate them from scratch, is strictly a personal choice and deserves neither praise nor criticism. Hey, as with most things in life, 'to each his own'. JMO.
