When I used the chord sequencer on the G1000, I used it to write songs for a customer.. He would give me a melody line and chords.. I entered the chords into the chord sequencer.. Now I could select any style to fit the intended feel of the new song. When I found what I was looking for, I did a midi capture (recorded midi). And if needed I could edit in the 16 track sequencer.


I never liked to use the chord sequencer live. Newer Roland keyboards have excellent piano mode that follows full keyboard (3 or more notes to change chord.. 5 or more notes if you use sustain pedal).
No need to free up a hand because of chord recognition.

The second reason why chord sequence is not that important to me.. Band in a box can input chords to do the job I first described..

Hey it still is a great feature, and the expanded concept from Yamaha seems interesting... Just not important enough for me (or I would still have a BK9).
