I think you're talking about two different markets. The real organ aficionado is never going to buy a synth (synth meaning any keyboard other than an organ or digital piano) and a synth player is never going to by a traditional organ (or even want one smile ). Dedicated organ players/buyers want all of their sounds generated by the organ (they want 'organ' brass, not synthesized or sampled brass, no matter how realistic the latter).

I believe today's organs will take advantage of modern technology to overcome the shortcomings of the older instruments, but at their core and in terms of functionality, they will remain in the organ tradition. JMO.
