You are nearer to the mark MAC I don't know how old this PC is but I would say, hardware fault and too expensive to repair, it's cheaper to buy an new PC. You can get Laptops to last years but at £350.00 for one in the UK if it last 3 year it's not bad. I wouldn't waste too much time with it.
