Fran, I think I experienced using the Variphrase in the arranger parts.

While I was demoing, I used a blues style and selected a Variphrase "set me free". The phrase repeated in time with the style. I controlled the inflection of the phrase using the D-beam so it didn't sound repetitive. I was pleased with the result. The salesman said he wasn't bothered much by what I was doing--which is about as much as I get in the way of compliments for my playing.
