Thanks again Clif for that helpful advice!

Of course, keyboards are WAY to expensive for me to buy and I have always wondered, like you suggested, about a computer-based setup. One of the main things, other than price, that attracts me to a computer setup is the upgrading possibilies that you mentioned.
Also, I've heard that Cakewalk is a great software program for composing music. But, where does the MIDI controller come in? Do you just play your notes on your MIDI controller and than the sequencer on the computer records it? If so, it sounds really convienent, because than you could go into the computer and edit your song! Now, I think I am starting to understand why a computer may be a better way to go...
However, Clif, what do you think of these keyboards? From what I've heard on this forum, they're relatively inexpensive, around $800, and you can do a lot with them. They're called the Yamaha DGX300, which is a 76 key version, and the Yamaha DGX500 which is an 88 key keyboard! The DGX sells for, again, $800 while the DGX300 sells for around $600. Please check them out at:

Well, thanks again - I really appreciate the help! Have a nice day and see you around,
Ryan
